Senior Programme Assurance Manager Birmingham


We are currently working with a client organisation who are looking to recruit a Senior Programme Assurance Manager to join the team in Birmingham, working on new high-speed rail project. The role will involve supporting the Head of Programme and Approvals Assurance, developing and managing the programme and approvals assurance strategy-  leading implementation initiatives and conducting reviews.


This organisation is looking for an individual who has ideally some rail based experience, but also are open to those who have experience within Water, Utilities, Oil and Gas.


The role will involve:

• Leading the delivery of projects/ initiatives and implementing the assurance policy, strategy, procedures and reporting format across the organisation
• Coordinate reviews of project baselines (Scope, cost, risk and schedule) and financial and economic models which use this information
• Undertake assurance mapping reviews aligned to the requirements of each programme. Project stage gate
• Contribute to the development of assurance engagement and training materials that support delivery of effective assurance throughout the programme

Experience and Qualifications:

• Ability to still information from multiple sources and turn it into clear material
• Able to engage and manage stakeholders and government on sensitive issues
• Understanding of Project and Programme Management techniques
• Professional Assurance qualifications (eg. Audit)
• Knowledge of a matrix organisation
• Experience delivering assurance across major programmes -  or a complex organisation with multiple stakeholders
• Assurance, internal control or audit experience within both the private and public sector is preferable
