Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Company Overview: We are a leading tier 1 contractor renowned for delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across the UK. Currently, we are involved in a significant £50 million station upgrade project for Transport for London (TfL). As the project transitions from the design phase to construction, we are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This key role will primarily focus on Change Management, making it a fantastic opportunity for individuals with expertise in this area.

Job Overview: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing change on the TfL station upgrade project. You will oversee all aspects of Change Management, ensuring effective control over variations, cost impacts, and contractual agreements. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to the successful delivery of the project, making a lasting impact on London's transport infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Change Management process for the TfL station upgrade project.
  • Review and assess variation proposals, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams, contractors, and suppliers to manage change effectively.
  • Provide expert advice on the financial and contractual implications of proposed changes.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and forecasts for variations, incorporating detailed measurements and valuations.
  • Evaluate and negotiate change orders, claims, and final accounts.
  • Implement robust systems for tracking and documenting changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and senior management to provide regular updates on Change Management activities.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the Quantity Surveying team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on Change Management.
  • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying practices, contract administration, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Proven track record of managing change on large-scale construction projects.
  • Excellent understanding of cost control, financial forecasting, and risk assessment.
  • Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership qualities, with the ability to drive change and manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Detail-oriented mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, meeting project deadlines.
