Job Summary

Primary Job Responsibilities

We’re looking for organised, motivated, resourceful individuals who have a flexible can-do attitude to assist providing support to the Operations team, our own Engineering Geologists and the wider AECOM business.

As a Site Assistant Technician, you will be trained in our established working practices and the primary expectations for this role are as follows:

• Provide assistance to Field Operatives and Site Engineers.
• Undertake a wide range of fieldwork activities including Geotechnical trial pitting, drilling, concrete coring, in-situ testing and sampling.
• Generally support all Ground Investigation fieldwork activities and provide basic factual data.
• Take pride in maintaining company equipment and vehicles to a high standard.

Minimum Requirements

Training and Experience

Essential:

• Full UK Driving licence.
• Possess good communication skills, a desire to learn, take responsibility for quality of deliverables and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
• An interest in Engineering.
• Basic computer literacy and ideally familiar with Email, Microsoft Word and Excel packages.

Preferred Qualifications

Desirable

• PTS, CSCS or any other H&S qualifications.
• Experience in working in a Railway and/or Highway environment
• Experience in the use of machinery or abrasive tools.
• Mechanically minded.

Education / Qualifications

GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English & Science
