I'm currently on the hunt for a Track CRE needed to join my client, a well known Rail / Civils contractor based in Essex (5 mins from the M25). This is an ongoing freelance role where you will be required to visit various sites whilst reporting into the Rail Manager.
You will be required to play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of railway tracks, from initial design through construction, maintenance, and ongoing management. Scope of works includes civils, drainage and building works in a rail environment.
My client will be assessing whether you are inside of IR35.
Duties include:
- Construction Supervision: During track construction or maintenance projects, the Track CRE will oversee the work to ensure it complies with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. You will need to coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues that arise during construction.
- Safety Assurance: Be responsible for ensuring that tracks are constructed and maintained to meet safety standards and minimise the risk of accidents. You will need to conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify and address potential hazards.
- Quality Control: The Track CRE will be responsible for maintaining the quality of track infrastructure - this involves monitoring construction activities, conducting quality inspections, and ensuring that materials and workmanship meet the required standards.
- Budget and Resource Management: be responsible for managing budgets, procurement, and resource allocation to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget constraints.
- Documentation: maintain accurate records of track designs, construction activities, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
- Compliance: ensure that track designs, construction activities, and maintenance procedures comply with relevant regulations and standards.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience as a CRE
- Previous proven experience working on Track projects
- Detailed knowledge of track, p-way, drainage
- Detailed knowledge of construction principles and standards
