We are now looking for an experienced Works Delivery Manager (Rail) to join our team. This is a varied role, combining office-based planning with site visits, and offers the chance to take ownership of projects while helping shape the future of the company.

Responsibilities

  • This is an office and site-based role — we work closely together as a team, so regular presence in the office is essential.
  • Standard hours are 08:00–16:00, Monday to Friday with optional overtime available.
  • Plan & manage projects valued from £5,000 – £100,000, from initial site walk out and scoping to paperwork through to delivery and handback documents.
  • Chair internal planning meetings, liaise with subcontractors, and attend client progress meetings.
  • Prepare and issue RAMS, task briefings, site folders and handback documents.
  • Prepare work package scopes as required and ensure appropriate protection levels are in place for each location and type of work.
  • Monitor progress, deal with arising issues, and inspect works for quality and sign-off at key stages.
  • Maintain accurate project records and keep Directors/clients updated on progress.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, including procurement of materials.
  • Oversee budgets and track project costs (payments managed by accounts team).
  • Carry out site inspections, briefings, and support site supervision.
  • Ensure full compliance with Network Rail and industry safety standards.
  • Provide feedback and performance reports on operatives and subcontractors.
  • Complete and file shift reports.
  • Problem-solve to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to budget.
  • Report to and support the Directors, acting as a sounding board for operational planning and business growth.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the company’s work bank by building on existing client relationships and spotting new opportunities

What We’re Looking For

  • Enthusiastic team player with solid industry/rail knowledge.
  • Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in rail or construction project delivery (essential).
  • Strong understanding of Network Rail standards, safety processes and RAMS.
  • Confident using MS Word, Excel and similar tools for documentation and planning.
  • Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • PTS or other rail safety accreditations (desirable).
  • Full UK driving licence (essential)
  • A proactive approach to spotting opportunities for repeat business and supporting the company’s growth
