This organisation is renowned for their effective delivery of large-scale capital infrastructure projects across Australia with a multi-million dollar annual turnover. As a result of a recent internal promotion a position has arisen for an Opportunity and Risk Manager to join a major rail project in Sydney. This role will mitigate and manage exposure to risk for the business/project and where necessary identify opportunities for cost savings by reducing risk.
Essentially, this position requires someone with high level risk and project management skills with knowledge of risk management systems and processes. The ability to effectively use qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques for capital works projects is an essential skill.
Knowledge of @risk or Monte Carlo risk assessment software packages is also desirable. The incumbent will be required to monitor risk on work that is currently in progress but also will be able to forecast risk on future packages of work to ensure that acceptable outcomes are achieved for everyone involved in the project.
