Chief Safety Expert (Rail Systems) - India

A leading international consultancy firm is seeking a Chief Safety Expert - Rail Systems for a prestigious new metro project in India. This is a key leadership position, offering the chance to contribute to the development of safe and efficient rail systems on a large-scale infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and oversee the safety framework for rail systems, ensuring compliance with international standards.
• Conduct safety risk assessments, hazard analyses, and system safety audits throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide expert guidance on rail system safety, focusing on signaling, rolling stock, and operational safety integration.
• Collaborate with design, construction, and operational teams to embed safety into all aspects of the rail system.
• Lead safety-related investigations and ensure the project meets safety certification requirements.

Requirements:

• A degree in engineering or a related discipline, with a post-graduate qualification or certification in rail systems safety or a related field.
• At least 20 years of post-graduation experience, with substantial expertise in rail systems safety, particularly for metro or rail projects.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working in developing countries (outside your home country), showcasing the ability to adapt to diverse environments.
• In-depth knowledge of international rail safety standards and their application in large-scale metro projects.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
