Job Title: Safety Critical Roles (Various)

Location: Northern Ireland Railway’s (NIR) Infrastructure

Start Date: Immediate

Duration: Full time

Hours: 40 Hours weekly Contract (Min) - Inc. Weekends)

For successful candidates ‘conversion training’ will be supplied by OTT Training Ltd. This will ensure your competencies from Network Rail or Iarnród Éireann will be relevant and current for the Northern Ireland Railway’s (NIR) infrastructure.

Required experience:

  • Track renewals and maintenance work
  • Railway Safety Critical Roles (Experience within NIR, Network Rail or Iarnród Éireann)
  • Full UK driving license

Desirable certifications / competencies:

  • PICOP
  • Engineering Supervisor (ES)
  • Points Operator (PO)
  • COSS / Track Safety Co-Ordinator (NIR’s Equivalent)
  • Emergency Operator (EO)
  • RRVC / Machine Controller
  • Banksman / Slinger / Crane Controller
  • Safe Work Leader (SWL) 1 / 2
  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally (or Related Achievement)

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out safety critical roles on Northern Ireland Railways.
  • Implementing safe systems of work
  • Mentoring and / or Assessing safety critical staff.
  • Assisting the development of the OTT apprenticeship programme.
  • Supporting NIR on Permanent Way projects
