Health and Safety Manager (Rail)
Location: North of the UK
Reports to: Head of QSHE
XEIAD is a leading Structures Inspection and Investigation Consultancy, and an Infrastructure
Services Contractor. As a Tier 1 supplier, we provide peace of mind for our clients, carrying out
condition appraisals of their assets and completing minor civils works including structures
maintenance and repair services to keep critical infrastructure safe.
Main Purpose
Working to the annual QSHE Plan, implement company health and safety procedures and industry
best practice across the Rail sector for Health and Safety.
Ensure compliance with XEIAD values and Health and Safety policies, assuring compliance with
current HSE legislation as well as compliance with our customers' policies and procedures.
Build effective relationships with colleagues throughout the organisation at all levels and across
the country as well as with our suppliers and clients promoting effective Health and Safety
initiatives.
Responsibilities
Health and Safety
Ensure that the Health and Safety of all Rail Sector staff is maintained at an exceptional level with zero accidents and incidents
o Promotion of Health, Safety and Wellbeing to colleagues, contractors and suppliers managing the development of risk assessments and safe working methods
o Support the ongoing achievement of Health and Safety accreditations and audits taking the lead on Rail specific accreditations including RISQS and Principal Contractors Licence
o Highlight and manage any change to industry Health and Safety legislation and brief as appropriate
o Provide professional support and guidance on Principal Contractor Licence matters including engagement with Network Rail and the Health & Safety Executive
o Lead on all Rail sector accident and incident investigations including liaison with clients and contractors
o Manage Health and Safety reporting throughout the Rail sector, highlighting potential trends, recommending and implementing interventions as required
o Develop a programme and ensure that all necessary site audits and safety tours are completed in accordance with our audit schedule and manage the approvals process for Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
o Provide Environmental advice as required
