The Company
This is an opportunity to work for a successful and forward-thinking train operating company which is investing heavily in new and improved trains. This train operating company is also investing in stations, car parks and numerous projects to ensure their customers continue to receive an industry leading service.
The Role
As Health & Safety Manager you will be working as part of an Improvement Project in a busy rail depot. You will be required to undertake crucial tasks including conducting depot inductions, carrying out Health & Safety reviews, review Risk Assessment Method Assessments (RAMS), and issuing work permits. You will liaise extensively with contractors and suppliers who need to access the depot on a daily or weekly basis to manage access routes. You will also be required to highlight any issues which will help to mitigate risks and will promote a culture of safe working.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be an experienced Health & Safety Manager with a strong knowledge of depot operations and the relevant Health & Safety risks. Extensive knowledge of the Construction and Rail industries is also essential. You will be able to raise Health & Safety issues quickly and liaise with contractors to address risks and implement new processes to eradicate hazards. You will have some experience or exposure to CDM.
The Requirements
You will be a Health & Safety Manager with experience of working with contractors within a railway environment and more specifically a live rail depot. You will have Personal Track Safety (PTS) competence and knowledge of IT systems and packages. You will be NEBOSH certified and have significant experience completing RAMS.
Working Hours
Mon-Fri (days, 37.5 hours per week)
