Health and Safety Reporting Manager
Purpose of the Job
Maintain up to date Health and Safety databases and ensuring appropriate and timely reporting of Health and Safety information.
Principal Accountabilities
Ensuring the client has appropriate records of incident and accident data.
Managing the SpheraCloud incident reporting database and ensure its availability to the client and its contractors.
Monitoring and developing safety performance indicators.
Act as custodian of Health and Safety Performance Index.
Coaching and supporting Health and Safety Team regarding Health and Safety Performance Index
Developing and producing daily, weekly and period reports as required for the business units within the company and the Board, Executive Group and the Safety, Health, Executive Leadership Team.
Champion for the health and safety Visualization requirements
Carrying out analysis of data, identifying trends and highlighting opportunities to improve performance.
Confidentially presenting data/analysis to various audiences.
To undertake improvement activities as and when required and support the rest of the health and safety team.
Assisting health & safety team members with sharing of best practice, positive safety performance and learning from incidents.
Providing guidance and support on safety across the business in the drive to achieve Target Zero aspirations.
Supporting existing and new programmes to maintain and improve construction/testing health and safety management across the company and Stakeholder Management teams.
Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected in the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working to Target Zero principles.
Co-operate in all matters relating to health and safety, including following safe working procedures at all times

Main challenges of the job
Multiple departmental, stakeholder and contractual interfaces with varying systems and reporting cultures.
Analysing complex data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Ensuring that all reporting activities are carried out to schedule and in accordance with Company auditing procedures and processes.
Ensuring effective communication on H&S issues across the company, and to stakeholder organisations and Construction Contractors.
To ensure the activities contribute towards a positive health and safety culture across the programme.
Balancing a variety of priorities to ensure timely delivery in accordance with agreed deadlines.
Person Specification
NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ level 4, or equivalent Health and Safety qualification supported by appropriate amount of relevant professional experience. NEBOSH Certificate / NEBOSH Construction Certificate may be acceptable if supported by substantial amount of relevant professional experience.
Detailed working knowledge safety reporting requirements, with particular reference to safety in the construction and / or the railway environment.
Experienced user of reporting systems and Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong communication skills with experience of working across all levels of an organisation.
Proven experience of delivering in a similar role in the railway / construction industry.
