We are currently working with a leading railway engineering contractor who are looking to expand their team in Leicester by recruiting a Health and Safety Advisor. Within this role as a Health and Safety Advisor you will be required to assist and promote health, safety, quality, environment, and operational safety.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•  Comply and promote company procedures to provide appropriate resources, communication strategies, training, and competency and evaluate fitness of staff to safely deliver their accountabilities
• Assist the HSQE Manager regarding safety and environmental risks to develop an understanding of these along with controls necessary to reduce risks
•  Carryout level investigation as required, liaise with the HSQE Manager during the investigation
• Ensure compliance with policies and strategies across the function and audit compliance with legal and statutory regulations 

The requirements for this job include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Experience in HSEA and operational safety issues on major programmes of work in the construction and/or rail industries
• Weekend and nighttime availability
• Nebosh certificate (desirable)
• IEMA certificate (desirable)
• Valid PTS and a minimum 3 years rail experience
• Full driving license
