“My client is an award winning multi-disciplinary outfit with extensive experience in Engineering capabilities who specialises in transportation and energy.

They are looking for a Junior Health & Safety assistant to report into the Safety Assurance Manager. The work is in York to join an existing team.

Role and requirements

• This role will be looking to increase level of competence in System Safety both within and external to the Rail environment.
• Assisting the team in the undertaking of regular monitoring and inspection of company projects to report on levels of compliance and to come up with opportunities of improvement.
• Assist the Systems Safety & Assurance Team in the Promotion of effective Design Risk Management throughout the company

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

• A good understanding of Design Risk Management
• Looking to work towards memberships such as IOSH, ICE, APS etc
• Must have 2 years’ experience within Safety roles working in either Rail or Construction.
• A basic knowledge of Construction Design Management as well as Common Safety Method principals.
