Safety & Standards Manager – Aberdeen - £60,000 per annum

My client is seeking an experienced safety focused professional who has experience managing and ensuring depot compliance to industry standards and legislations, within a heavy engineering/maintenance environment.

Purpose: To review and implement quality, environment and safety compliance on depot, overtake depot audits and assist with Risk assessments to demonstrate compliance with applicable legislation, policies and standards.

Principle Accountabilities:

• Management of ISO certification on depot and support engineering input into company ISO certification
• Document author Quality, Safety & Environment (QSHE) procedures
• Develop, establish and continuously review the depots quality, safety, technical/maintenance and environmental management procedures, standards and specifications in line with the company’s policies
• Establish and maintain a proactive regime for maintaining standards thus minimising complaints and corrective actions
• Manage the control of documentation contained in management systems and monitor the performance of the system
• Manage the investigation of incidents, defects, non-conformities and complains
• Conduct internal audits, maintaining effective internal audit plans and record all corrective actions

Requirements:

• Qualification in auditing ISO 9001, ISO 14001 ISO 50001 ISO 18001
• Experience ideally in rail, aerospace or other heavy engineering maintenance depot
• Knowledge and experience of using Quality, Safety and Environmental management systems
• Experience in undertaking Risk assessments
• An advocate of change and desire to improve processes and instructions
• Sound knowledge of IT packages and ability to learn new systems
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence, convince and motivate others
• Enthusiastic self-starter with an attention to detail and a desire to manage and develop processes to improve fleet performance

The role is based in Aberdeen but visits to HQ will occasionally be expected. The depot is in operation 24/7 – you may be required to work outside normal hours, but when needed. They’re offering a salary of circa £60,000 and includes strong benefits.
