Senior Fire and Life Safety Expert - GCC

EWI are supporting a leading consultancy company who are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Fire and Life Safety Specialist to join their team within the Building Services industry in the GCC region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire engineering, a comprehensive understanding of local and international building codes, and the ability to lead fire safety projects independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit Fire Safety proposals to Dubai Civil Defense and Abu Dhabi Civil Defense.
• Negotiate with authorities for approval on fire safety designs and proposals.
• Calculate occupant loads in compliance with relevant codes.
• Specify and design fixed fire protection systems, including automatic fire detection and suppression systems.
• Review drawings to identify any non-compliance issues and ensure adherence to UAE Fire Code and NFPA 101.
• Utilize CAD and Revit for fire safety design solutions.
• Conduct project and technical analysis independently.
• Apply fire safety legislation and conduct fire safety risk assessments.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a specialization in Fire Engineering from a recognized university.
• Chartered Professional Engineer status.
• Education Equivalency Certification from the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Education.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Fire and Life Safety Specialist consultant within the Building Services industry in the GCC.
• In-depth knowledge of International Building Codes and GCC Building Codes, including UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, Saudi Building Code, NFPA, IBC, and British Standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in preparation and submission of fire safety documentation.
• Proficiency in CAD and Revit software.
• Strong negotiation skills with local authorities.
• Ability to undertake and lead fire safety projects independently.
