The role of HR Generalist will provide an effective HR service to Managers and Employees within the Bishopstoke Plants, Corporate Functions and Utilities, working as part of the broader UK HR Team. Working within a fast-paced, operationally focused environment the role will provide first line support and guidance to Managers and Employees on a range of HR topics.
Specific responsibilities will include:
• Support the delivery of best practice human resource solutions that support the business to achieve improved performance and operational effectiveness.
• Support the local implementation of HR strategy including compensation and benefits, training, strategic recruitment programs and employee relations programs.
• Uphold and support managers with Prysmian Group and UK policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and escalating as necessary.
• Participate in the development of local HR policies and procedures and assume an active supporting role in their implementation.
• Support and administer the absence management process including monitoring employee absence for desk and non-desk worker populations, providing guidance to Managers on the relevant Absence Control Procedure.
• Assist Line Managers to develop job descriptions and recruitment advertisements.
• In conjunction with People Development coordinate the recruitment process, including screening CVs, participate in interviews / assessment centres and draft offers of employment. Ensure that an effective and timely recruitment process is provided.
• Manage the onboarding and induction processes in accordance with UK Policies and Procedures.
• Handle employee relations issues, supporting Managers with investigations of misconduct issues, complaints or grievances; problem and conflict resolution and corrective actions predominantly with the non-desk worker population.
• Support Discipline and Grievance processes and provide guidance to Line Managers to ensure a best practice approach.
• Support monthly payroll administration, in accordance with agreed payroll procedures, including maintenance of data within SAP, TMS and Workday.
Qualifications / Experience
Educated to degree standard in a relevant discipline (for example Business or Human Resources) the successful candidate will have previous experience providing a generalist HR service, preferably within an operational, utility or construction environment. A CIPD qualification (level 5) is preferable.
The successful candidate will have a proven ability to communicate at a variety of levels and will be comfortable in formal situations, such as disciplinary or grievance hearings. A strong ability to prioritise and coordinate a busy workload is essential. Candidates will preferably have previous experience with Workday, or alternatively will be able to demonstrate experience working with another HR system to a high level.
