Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Resource Coordinator to join VolkerRail’s Plant Department working in Scunthorpe.
Key duties will include:
- Responsibility for ensuring the rostering of manpower requirements in accordance with the staff Terms & Conditions, including stipulated timescales to ensure contractual requirements (Work Programme) are delivered.
- Ensuring that the staff rosters are developed in accordance with the relevant HSQE etc. standards in place.
- Establishing and maintaining robust communication between Logistics & Resources Manager, Engineering Managers, Operations Manager (OTM), Driver Standards Manager, Field Delivery Manager, Field Standards Manager and all Crew Managers.
- Support Planning Manager/ Logistics Manager in ensuring that initial bids for Train Pathing requirements (STP) are prepared and submitted in line with the required timescales to ensure delivery of the work programme.
- Support Planning Manager/ Logistics Manager to ensure that all planning is undertaken in accordance with the relevant standards in place (NROL).
- Updating planning system with confirmed Train paths upon receipt and manage all changes to ensure delivery of planned shifts.
- The inputting of all training, annual leave and sickness shifts / hours into the relevant Business systems.
- Development and maintenance of the rostering database to ensure information is available, including the production of internal reports etc.
- Regular attendance at VolkerRail Plant Meetings as required.
- Analysis of actual labour hrs v’s “norms” for all maintenance works.
- Collation of weekly asset utilisation for all plant items, to be issued to Operations Managers for verification.
- With the support of the R&L Manager, develop a suit of reports to brief out to GM/CM/BM’s monthly to enable review, discussion and necessary action.
Job Requirements
You will be self-motivated with a pro-active approach and have experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. Problem solving, communication and excellent organisational skills are a key requirement for this role.
The candidate will also ideally have the following experience/skill set:
- Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 Word, Excel and Outlook.
- High attention to detail.
- Good presentation, written and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and self-confidence to build strong working relationships internally and externally at all levels.
- Able to manage a diverse workload.
