About us:
XEIAD is a Civil Engineering Consultancy specialising in Structures Asset Management Engineering and
difficult access inspections of the Rail and Highway infrastructure with offices based across the UK.
Main Purpose:
To support the Rail Team in the efficient and cost effective provision of examination delivery resource and technical report compliance to ensure the successful delivery of the exams programme.
To undertake People Manager duties, ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that safety is always the priority, promote safe working practices, ensure full implementation and compliance with Key Processes and Safety Responsibility Matrix
- Undertake the role of Nominated CRE (Operations) (where appointed)
- Undertake the role of Responsible Manager to ensure that the appropriate Safe System of Work (SSOW) is implemented
- Ensure that the appropriate Safe Work Pack (SWP), Work Package Plan (WPP)/Task Briefing Sheet (TBS) documentation is adhered to at all times so that Xeiad responsibilities are discharged on-site at all times
- Work with the Structures Engineering Team to ensure that examiner competence is managed effectively, through appropriate training, mentorship and assessment, then maintained through technical briefings, site observations, and that individual action plans are fully implemented where deemed necessary
- Support the Programme Manager with the creation, development and enhancement of the baseline programme through the Planning Robustness process, providing accurate forecasts for resource capacity and needs in line with programme requirements
- Work closely with the Structures Engineering Team to produce technically compliant reports and minimise rejections
- Work closely with the Programme Manager(s) to ensure that work is planned to optimise the use of available resources, including safety critical requirements.
- Ensure that the resourcing and delivery of the structures examinations is done in accordance with project requirements, updating the Exams Manager with progress information as required
- Manage the vehicles and equipment, ensuring that maintenance, inspection, repair and calibration is undertaken as required
- Undertake a people manager role, ensuring that the Examiners are highly engaged and receive the necessary support and development
Essential Experience, Qualifications & Skills
- At least 5years experience in the rail industry, specifically managing individuals and small/medium sized work teams
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline (additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu on an individual basis)
- Knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements in a Rail environment
- Knowledge and understanding of the key operational processes and technical standards for delivering structural examinations on the rail infrastructure
- Have proven ability to work in a team environment with a dedicated approach to motivating and developing an examination team"
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- IT Literate (Microsoft Office)"
Desirable Experience, Qualifications & Skills
- Over 10years experience in the rail industry, specifically managing individuals and small/medium sized work teams
- Degree qualified, ideally in Civil Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline
- A recognised project management qualification or accreditation, i.e. MAPM, RPP etc OR recognised engineering accreditation, i.e. MICE, MPWI, MIStrE"
- Previous demonstrable experience in an examinations delivery role in the rail environment
- PTS, IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS
