What will I be doing?

The Resource & Package Works Co-Ordinator will be required to accurately perform duties across a wide variety of Contingent Labour & Package work planning tasks. On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for:

  • Accurately transferring RSSI allocated shifts from client work plans onto board spreadsheets.
  • Entering job orders accurately onto Aspire including postcodes, supervisor names and contact details, pick up times and locations and order numbers and assigning workers.
  • Ensuring all RSSI workers receive clear communication about their planned work ensuring that their competence, dates, times and location of shifts, pick up time, date and location, driver name and telephone number are confirmed as a minimum via text message.
  • Highlighting to Rail Managers if when assigning RSSI workers to Aspire they contravene rail working regulations (14hr rule, receive required legal breaks etc.) or do not comply with all UK employment legislation.
  • Responsible for checking that all client orders match Aspire, highlighting issues to the Rail Manager, requesting amendments to orders where required and ensuring all order numbers are accurately entered onto Aspire by 12.00 each Wednesday for prior weeks work.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all holidays and training is recorded on Aspire
  • To obtain quotes and source hotels, ensuring that hotels have free car parking, twin rooms are booked as a minimum and protecting the profitability of planned works, highlighting to Rail Managers and the Head of Operations where issues arise.
  • Responsible for checking MacRail to ensure workers have signed in and updating times on Aspire.
  • Responsible for keeping Fatigue Risk Calculators up to date for all Safety Critical staff and drivers and highlighting any issues to management.
  • Understanding & checking Package Works plans to produce design requirements to produce design requirements as specified by the client
  • Identifying all relevant site details (eg length of site, maximum permitted line speed, train directions, system specifications etc)
  • Considering occupational and environmental risks to members of the public.
  • Maintaining a healthy working relationship with Principal Contractors and / or Contractors obtaining future work plans to assist growth.
  • Assist with the production of planning sheets and ensure details are given to the Package Works delivery manager.
  • Creation of site packs (task briefs, hot weather permits etc) and documentation for delivery of the system.

What experience would we like you to have?

To be selected for interview, we are looking for a minimum of 12 months previous office- based experience working in a planning or safety critical role, a thorough understanding of MS Word and Excel is essential. Ideally you will have worked in the rail sector before and hold a minimum of a COSS (Controller of Site Safety) competence.
