The Network Operations Information Coordinator role is located in the Romford Route Control Centre.

The job is to monitor activities and conversations that occur within the RCC in regards to infrastructure and train service incidents affecting the railway and any other general information that could have an effect on services.

The NOIC role is carried out by using software called SAFE that we use to collate and log the information in and occasionally distribute it to the wider operations teams if necessary. Quality of the information is key, walking round and good communicating skills are necessary.

Other responsibilities include messaging out (COSPO – Central Operating Section Performance Overview), joining the daily conference call that goes through operations, safety, performance and ongoing issues with operations and maintenance.

As a NOIC you will also be responsible for distribution lists to the call and arranging the call itself.
Delay attribution is another key aspect of the NOIC role which involves using Kestrel software to receive information about any train delays and then include them in a ticket in which you will allocate the cause of the delay to either the infrastructure manager or MTR-EL.

Using radios to communicate with incident Managers and other Crossrail staff will also be a part of the NOIC role to reduce the pressure of the Service & Infrastructure Manager.

Shifts are as follows:

Monday – Friday
• Early Shift 07:00 to 15:00
• Late Shift 15:00 to 23:00

Weekends
• Either 8 or 12 Hour Shift 07:00 to 19:00

Intermittent Management Shifts
• (Rotated every 4 weeks or so) 09:00 to 17:00
