With a growing team of 550+ staff, working across our 12 Rail design offices throughout the UK we are continuing to add to our already extensive and impressive list of project awards.
The role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the process of virtual construction of the Wales & Borders Core Valley Lines Transformation and documenting the design contract documents accurately. This encompasses coordinating a team of production professionals, designers and technicians of multiple disciplines and ownership of the construction-documents set through as-built submittals. It is also critical for them to lead model management and BIM planning, collaboration and coordination for the whole programme.
In a typical week you will:
- Assist with compliance to the relevant Health and Safety legislation, particularly the CDM Regulations
- Maintain a focus on timely delivery, meeting project deadlines
- Use Building Information Modelling (BIM) to perform project tasks
- Facilitate the integration of asset information with discipline models where applicable
- Manage Common Data Environment datasource on ProjectWise including managing first line project support and datasource configuration
- Model Management and administration ensuring a healthy BIM database
- Enable 4D and 5D processes
- Contribute to continuous development and approvals of standard libraries and asset database
- Ensure CADQA compliance
- Meet project deadlines
- Mentor and develop BIM staff
- Accountable for management and maintenance of the federated model
- Facilitate BIM Coordination Meetings: Spatial coordination of disciplines, gathering all disciplines BIM models including performing coordination tasks
- Liaison with Corporate Support and BIM TD
- Manage BIM Information handover
- Managing a team of production professionals, designers and technicians
- Manage the delivery and exchange of information deliverables / data to and from the design team & IDPs including ensuring that required MIDP(s) are developed and delivered against
- Manage and carry out the BIM audit function and supporting audits where necessary
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Extensive BIM Level 2 project experience.
- Experience of working within the Rail industry.
- Solid experience as a BIM Coordinator.
- Extensive experience of ProjectWise, Microstation 3D, AECOsim or relevant design software.
- Experience of ProjectWise working environments on multiple datasources.
