Job Description
To support continued expansion of our rail business, we are looking for Engineers and Consultants to work on winning and delivering projects in the rail infrastructure sector.
The vacancies will appeal to candidates who want the opportunity to:

All roles will involve providing technical advice and consultancy services to a wide variety of projects. For more senior roles, you will also be involved in leading teams and developing market opportunities.
Requirements
All roles are to help us both expand and deliver work in the rail sector, heavily biased to the infrastructure sector. As such, we are particularly looking for individuals for:
- Significant rail sector experience. We would welcome applications from individuals with experience in any railway asset. Those of most interest are: signalling, traffic management / train control, communications, electrification and track.
- Candidates with client relationships and the aptitudes to be able to build further relationships.
- Candidates who can undertake work themselves to a high standard and also lead small teams.
- A can-do attitude, the willingness to look for solutions to novel client problems and excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
Ideally, you will have a degree in a relevant discipline and be a member of a railway or engineering institute as well as experience in the rail sector appropriate to each of the roles we are looking for:
Asset Management Consultant (Infrastructure biased):
Experience of creating, managing, delivering and/or implementing:
- ISO 55000 / 55001
- Asset Management Strategies and Plans
- Asset Management Maturity Measures
- Asset Information & Data Management
- Assessment of Asset Management Regimes
- Analysis of asset data in excel or other statistical packages
- Knowledge of the asset data systems (eg Ellipse), asset management models and asset management processes used in the UK railway industry
- Management of teams delivering work on these areas
Maintenance Optimisation Consultant (Infrastructure biased):
Experience of delivering and/or implementing:
- Railway maintenance regimes (e.g in one or more infrastructure asset)
- Reliability and /or maintenance improvement programmes
To be able to do the above, the individual is likely to also have experience in:
- Analysis of asset data in excel or other statistical packages
- Knowledge of the asset data systems (e.g. Ellipse) used in the UK railway industry
- Safety incidents and recovery plans
- Management of teams delivering work on these areas
Note - it is possible that some candidates may have skills for both the above two roles: Maintenance Optimisation and Asset Management
Cyber Security / Information Assurance Consultant
Experience of creating, managing, delivering and/or implementing:
- A range of digital / information systems used to support the delivery of the railway
- Development of cyber security / information assurance strategies and plans
- Undertaking information system security risk assessments
- Understanding of relevant standards eg CPNI, ISO 27002 (or predecessor BS 7799 or ISO 17799) requirements.
Software Safety Consultant
Experience of creating, managing, delivering and/or implementing:
- 61508 and related railway standards eg 50128
- Producing safety justifications
- Assessment of safety related documentation
- Safe architectures and / or safe software
- SIL assessment
