CDM Assurance Lead
Manchester, Leeds or York
Long term contract/competitive day rates (in-scope of IR35)
Our client is currently sourcing an experienced CDM Assurance Lead on a long-term contract basis with flexibility to be based in Manchester, Leeds or York.
Reporting to the HS & Wellbeing Lead, your main responsibility will be to ensure compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 from design, construction through to handover.
Responsibilities
- Integrating programme and wide deliverables into current strategies
- Development and implementation of the wide CDM Strategy and related documents.
- Supporting the implementation of the H, S&W IMS and wide management systems.
- Supporting the delivery of the wide audit and assurance strategy.
- Development and implementation of the CDM assurance programme to ensure duty holder compliance.
- Ensuring compliance with PMO deliverables and reporting requirements.
- Supporting the H, S&W Lead in the delivery and development of training and initiatives to promote best practice in hazard and risk elimination.
- Embedding the Close Call reporting process in design.
- Data management, monitoring and reporting against Key Result Areas.
- Ensuring the Safe by design principles are being robustly and consistently applied wide.
- Review and assurance of site monitoring and safety assurance programmes in line with key programme health and safety risks.
- Development of initiatives and training packages.
- Mentorship of Principal Contractor assurance representatives
- Available to work unsociable hours (e.g. nights and weekends) when required by programmed activities.
Desired Skills and experience
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
- Proven track record in Health & Safety or CDM management Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of CDM duty holder roles and responsibilities.
- Experience in the Rail and Construction industry.
- Excellent communication / facilitation skills.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Health and Safety management role.
- Excellent team working skills and a good sense of humour.
- Minimum NEBOSH Diploma qualification working towards CMIOSH.
- Performance driven and innovative.
- Aspirations for development and career progression.
