Lead Electro Mechanical Engineer (Rail Industry)

Reporting to:
Technical Manager
12Months contract, 37 hours, salary dependant on experience £30 - £40 Limited Company / £23.78 - £31.62 PAYE
Job Summary:
· Experience in Electrical harness routing in Rail/Loco/Train domain
· Experience in coordination with and understanding systems requirements to deliver electrical systems design
· Well versant with execution methodologies for ECN/ECR type of project activities
· Study input requirements and estimate for the assigned work packages / projects
· Accountable for all committed Deliverables on day to day basis
· Applies basic engineering design principles on each project activity
· Organizes and leads his work package reviews for the project he/she is in charge
· Organizes Design / Verification reviews with internal Technical reviews
· Conduct self and team’s internal quality checks (peer Reviews) to ensure defect free deliverables
· Build training materials, work instructions, lessons learned documents based on the work packages/projects executed and previous experience
Required Skills:
· Thorough experience on harness design pertaining to rolling stock /Loco/ Train interiors
· Well versant with EHI modules of CATIA V5
· Experience in harness routing and manufacturing drawing creation for electrical cabinets used in railway industry
· Knowledge of electrical systems and Components like cable trays/supports, Contactors, Relays, Miniature circuit breakers, MCCB, Servo motor, Drives etc.
· Ability to present work executed at offshore to customer SPCs if deputed at onsite location
· Ability to detail, assigned electro-mechanical sub-module of train system with support from SME/CE
· Ability to define component and assemblies of sub-systems as per manufacturing & assembly concepts
· Knowledge on Tolerance stack-up analysis and recommend feasible solutions in accordance with manufacturing capabilities
· Ability to analyse and propose retrofit solution for existing design modifications on mechanical assemblies as well as harness routings
· Capable of selecting appropriate fasteners for various assemblies
· Good, drawing and electrical layout/schematic reading skills
· Hands-on experience on CATIA V5 and PLM platform like Enovia to create 3D models, 2D drawings and product structure
· Knowledge on Rail industry and rail operators standards for various regions like DB, EN, IEC
