Lead OCS Engineer - California (Permanent)

EWI have an exciting opportunity for a Lead OCS Engineer, to join a leading European Engineering Consultancy to join a prestigious High-Speed Rail project in the US.

As the Lead OCS Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the OCS consultant team, providing essential support to the client Rail and Operations Delivery Branch in various services including Asset Management, Rail Engineering Support, Design and Construction Oversight, Network Integration, Start-up and Commissioning, FRA Certification, System Safety and Security, and Contracts Commercial Support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer technical railroad engineering advice, aligning with European Standards (EN), specifically on the Overhead Catenary System (OCS).
• Coordinate with the client's Engineering Services Branch to ensure seamless integration and compatibility of civil and rail engineering products, ensuring a complete, functional, and certifiable system.
• Manage intermediate and final design submittals for the Overhead Catenary System (OCS).
• Oversee technical review management, due diligence checks, and compliance with technical contract requirements for the OCS.
• Review technical design reports and manage document submittals related to the Overhead Catenary System (OCS).
• Provide training to OCS Engineers on HSL technical aspects.
• Assume leadership responsibilities for the OCS function of the project.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's engineering degree or equivalent
• Minimum 15 years of railway experience in the OCS field.
• Proven ability to manage engineering consultancies and/or contractors responsible for design and construction services.
• Experience as an OCS Engineer, capable of analysing and providing expert consultation on designs during all phases, from feasibility to detailed design and constructability assessment.
• Commissioning supervision experience is advantageous.
• Significant experience in HSR as an OCS Engineer, along with mainline/heavy rail experience.
