Lead Pre-Construction Manager

I am working with a large Infrastructure, Rail and Civils client in London and the South of the UK who are looking to appoint a Lead Pre-Construction Manager. This person will be responsible for leading a team of bid professionals and managing an opportunity from pre-qualification through to contract award, including preparation of our value proposition, strategic review and solution development, commercial assessment and development of a bid winning strategy, including associated risk management.

Skills

• Strong leadership skills, ability to develop and deliver business vision, mission, values, behaviours, and strategy.
• Excellent team building and communication skills, with strong resilience and flexibility. Ability to provide 1:1 coaching, and to mentor team members to encourage their development and improve performance.
• Sound business acumen and financially astute with good risk management knowledge.
• Understanding of design management with some engineering knowledge with a good level of IT ability.

Experience and Knowledge

• At least 5 years relevant experience within the construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years experience in the work winning arena.
• Successfully managed both pre-qualification and tender programmes and been responsible for their delivery.
• Experience of relevant customer procurement processes and assurance procedures.
• Sound understanding of safety leadership from a policy and behavioural perspective.
• Basic knowledge of ICC, NEC & JCT forms of contract
