Lead Project Engineer in London, London, United Kingdom
esponsible for leading the delivery of Project Engineering activities for the new Farringdon City Sidings (FCS) Project, part of the Four Lines Modernisation (4LM) Infrastructure Sub-Programme in TfL Major Projects Directorate.
The scope requires a Senior Engineer with experience in leading the Design, Integration and delivery of multi-disciplinary Railway Systems, who is an accredited or previously accredited LU Project Engineer (requiring future assessment) in accordance with TfL Standard R0046. The candidate will need to be well-versed in London Underground and have experience of multi-disciplinary Projects including an understanding of ATC Signalling Systems.
The scope will include (not limited to):
*Act as single point of contact for all Engineering topics in regards to the Farringdon City Sidings Project (FCS/The Works), with effective delegation and empowerment to act on behalf of the Principal Project Engineer (PPE) where required.
*Act as the 'controlling mind', with total geographic ownership, for the design and implementation of all interfacing engineering & railway systems including representation at local and project-level Gates/Checkpoint and periodic reviews.
*Manage assigned Project Engineers, the appointed Designers and lead on technical integration of the respective disciplines to deliver compliant and assured designs.
*Lead the delivery of Value Engineering outcomes (design, process, resources, tools, etc.), seeking the support of the PEs and Discipline Engineers.
*Challenge discipline specific issues through the respective Discipline Engineers and escalate items as required to the PPE and/or Accredited Discipline Leads.
*Identify non-compliances and author and/or manage the development concessions or alternative methods to delivery of assured engineering outcomes.
*Author and/or manage the development and delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering assurance products in compliance with S1538 and Pathway or equivalent.
*Support the Project Manager (PM) and their teams and respective embedded Professional Services in the preparation and execution of Tender activities leading to the succesful appointment of contractor(s) to deliver the Works.
*Support the PM and others within the team in the management of schedule, risk and cost, drawing upon the technical risk and issues register.
*Support the programme in the delivery of its CDM (Principal Designer & Contractor) obligations.
*Own the resolution of quality issues with regards to engineering deliverables and support Construction in the management of site quality & safety.
*Works closely with colleagues from Asset Performance Directorate (APD) to agree the Mandatory Asset Information Deliverables (MAID) & Lead on the successful Handover of the new assets into Maintenance.
