My Client is looking for 2 Lead Topographical Surveyors to join their growing team due to an influx in work having recently been awarded more high-profile contracts.

The purpose of the Role is to carry out surveys from start to finish supporting the Operations Manager - Survey & Geotechnical whilst leading Surveyors in the execution of all topographical and railway surveys.

The Role Will Involve

• Support the Project Manager - Surveying as directed in complex site surveys
• Be able to determine the most appropriate manner of survey in the planning and execution of surveys
• Complete and deliver land, overhead line, railway and gauging surveys
• Establish calibration and maintenance regimes for all survey equipment
• Establish survey monitoring regimes
• Carry out setting out activity in accordance with design drawings and scheme plans
• Lead and coach Engineering Surveyors in all site surveys

The Ideal Candidate is:

• A Member of RICS / ICES or working towards Chartered Status
• Competent in the selection of the appropriate survey equipment and the operation and instruction of the following: Total Station, Platform gauge, Laser Sweep, GPS Heights and staggers gauge, Mephisto Automatic and digital levels, Laser Scanner, Track Measuring Device
• PTS
• COSS / SWL1
• First Aid
• Have a good understanding of LiDAR and its suitability.
• Competent in the use of at least two or more of the following survey and complementary software packages with a good understanding in the operation of all others including:
  • Terramodel / LSS / Liscad / SCC / N4CE
  • Trimble Business Software / Leica GEO OfficeAutoCAD / Microstation
  • Bentley Railtrack / MX Rail
• Be competent to a level to enable the education of Surveyors in the following survey Techniques: Traversing, Topographical and detailed surveying, Levelling, Gauging, Hallade, GPS / GNSS operation
