Proven Safety & Sustainability professional with experience of working in an alliance/JV environment on major infrastructure (ideally rail) programmes required for a long term contract opportunity working on a major rail infrastructure programme. This programme is a high rewarding one which will revolutionise travel in the north, increase the economy and link communities together. As Project Safety & Sustainable Development Lead, you will report directly into the Director of Safety & Sustainable Development and Project Director and will see you manage, monitor and assure compliance thus ensuring that the Alliance wide strategies, management plans and KPI frameworks are embedded into everyday project delivery. Another key area of focus for the role, will be to maintain strong reporting channels with the central Safety & Sustainable Development team ensuring all information for reporting is accurate, concise and supplied within the specified reporting timelines. The candidates selected for this role will be able to effectively manage a project Safety & Sustainable Development team to ensure successful and safe delivery of the programme.
To be considered for the role of Project Safety & Sustainable Development Lead candidates will have the following experince:
- Member of a relevant professional S&SD bodies holding a diploma level qualification or working towards.
- Relevant experience in a health and safety management role (at least 5 Years).
- Evidential background experience in the Health and Safety management of major multi-disciplinary projects.
- Experience of managing teams of people within complex delivery environments.
- Extensive experience in the construction and rail industries.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Health, Safety and environment legislation.
- Detailed knowledge of NWR and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with
- Knowledge of/experience in the UK railway industry (Desirable)
- Experience of working in other high-risk industries.
- Knowledge of/experience of Alliancing and working in collaborative environments.
