An exciting opportunity to join one of the UK's leading Train Operating Companies as a Delivery Manager/Service Delivery Lead - being responsible for developing the service delivery elements of project specific delivery plans alongside leading and coordinating the relevant functional areas - fleet, control, drivers and customer service.
You will ensure that the appropriate governance, process and procedure is in place and adhered to. This will require the need to produce strategy and decision papers for the project steering committee alongside the company executives.
Key responsibilities for this Service Delivery Lead role:
- Develop and deliver the Service Delivery Plan as part of the broader programme, to include but not limited to drivers, control, fleet, operations and customer services.
- Ensure risks and issues are managed appropriately and escalated as required.
- Represent the company in relevant project forums and actively manage stakeholders, including but not limited to DfT, EWR, WMT and NR.
- Responsible for the operational input and any required assessments called on.
- Ensure that an appropriate level of challenge is applied to functional teams plans and strategies to ensure the most effective solution is adopted.
- Report the progress of the programme at regular intervals.
- Motivate, manage and lead colleagues and stakeholders to create a positive and delivery focused team.
Experience required for this Service Delivery Lead role:
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience)
- Proven track record of leading a functional area within a multi-stakeholder environment.
- A subject matter expert across service delivery requirements.
- Previously either have been involved as a team member or led a similar cross functional project.
- Experience of writing and developing position papers and strategy documents.
- Evidence of successful project/programme delivery.
- Effective management of deliverables and inputs within a matrix project structure with the ability to influence others outside of their direct line management.
- Financially literate with the ability to understand the impact of decisions on the P&L and project budget.
- Commercial acumen and ability to operate in a multi-stakeholder environment.
- Tenacious, pragmatic and comfortable operating and taking decisions where a level of uncertainty exists.
Package offered for this Service Delivery Manager role:
- Salary upto £80,000 depending on experience
