Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Lead to join our dynamic team in the Surrey area. As a Technical Lead in the rail industry, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and driving technical excellence in our rail projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage technical aspects, and provide leadership to ensure the successful execution of rail projects within a 40-mile radius of Surrey.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Expertise: Leverage your deep technical knowledge in the rail industry to guide project teams in making informed decisions and solving complex technical challenges.
2. Project Management: Lead and manage rail projects, including planning, resource allocation, and tracking progress to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
3. CCTV Expertise: Bring your expertise in CCTV systems to design, implement, and oversee CCTV installations in rail projects, ensuring security and surveillance requirements are met.
4. Commissioning Plans: Develop comprehensive commissioning plans to ensure the proper functioning and integration of rail systems, including CCTV, within the project scope.
5. Migration Strategies: Develop and implement migration strategies for transitioning from legacy systems to newer technologies, ensuring minimal disruption to rail operations.
6. Handback Documentation: Create thorough handback documentation to facilitate the seamless transition of completed rail projects to clients or operators, including all necessary certifications and compliance records.
7. Survey Reports: Review survey reports and turn them into concise summary reports for effective decision-making and project planning.
8. Team Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
9. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all rail projects meet the highest quality and safety standards, adhering to industry regulations and best practices.
10. Stakeholder Communication: Act as a point of contact for clients, partners, and regulatory authorities, effectively communicating technical aspects of projects and addressing any concerns.
11. Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the rail industry, and identify opportunities to implement innovative solutions to improve project efficiency and effectiveness.
12. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks that could impact project delivery and overall success.
13. Documentation: Oversee the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including project plans, specifications, and reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably in a related field such as Civil Engineering or Railway Engineering.
- Proven experience in the rail industry, with a strong track record of technical leadership.
- In-depth knowledge of rail engineering principles, standards, and regulations.
- Project management experience, including the ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools and technology platforms in the rail industry.
