Test & Commissioning Lead - Perth in perth, Australia
A well-known Australian contractor is looking for a Test & Commissioning Manager to support the design and construction of a new three platform station built between Helena and Cale Streets and includes a new multi-storey carpark, 12 stand bus interchange, north-south pedestrian overpass and amenities, driver sign on facilities, commissioning and interconnection with existing freight and passenger rail line networks, as well as, decommissioning and demolishing the existing 53 year old station.
The Test & Commission Lead is accountable for all Rail systems testing and commissioning activities.
OBJECTIVE
* Understand the elements of the Alliance Charter and their individual contribution in its delivery
* Adherence to the Alliance Integrated Management System and Project Execution Plan.
* Compliance with the Safety and Environmental Responsibilities specific to Alliance Management Plan.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Develop and implement testing and commissioning plans for rail systems, ensuring compliance with SWTC, safety standards and regulations.
* Deliver all commissioning, testing and operational readiness pre-requisites to successfully handover a rail system to the client
* Lead a team of contractors testing and commissioning Engineers, technicians to execute the testing and commissioning plan.
* Work with Construction team discipline leads, SESA team and other stakeholders to identify testing and commissioning requirements and timelines.
* Ensure that all testing and commissioning activities are documented, tracked, and reported accurately and in a timely manner.
* Manage the risk associated with testing and commissioning activities and take corrective actions, as necessary.
* Coordinate with other discipline such as SRE (Supplier Responsible Engineer), PTA PE (Project Engineer), operations, maintenance, and safety to ensure a smooth transition from testing to revenue service.
* Monitor and report on the progress of testing and commissioning activities to management and stakeholders.
* Ensure that testing and commissioning activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and within budget.
* Actively participate and coordinate all elements of commissioning including:
o Factor Acceptance Testing
o Type approvals
o Site Acceptance Testing
o Entry into Service
o Final Asset acceptance
* Participate with the completions team for final handover and asset acceptance
* Participate in possessions and shutdowns as required to enable work to progress
COMPETENCIES
* Minimum Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
* Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) - Desirable
* At least 7-10 years of experience in rail systems testing and commissioning, preferably in a lead role.
* Strong knowledge of rail systems and associated technologies, including signaling and communications systems and traction power systems
* Understanding of safety regulations and standards related to rail systems.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
* Ability to manage multiple project task and stakeholders.
* Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to work After hours to execute T&C activities Safely and efficiently
* Sound organisational ability
