A well-known operator in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Advisor with a strong background in the transportation industry. The Legal Advisor will play a critical role in ensuring legal compliance, managing contractual agreements, mitigating risks, and resolving industry-specific disputes. This position demands a proactive professional capable of guiding the company through the evolving regulatory landscape while safeguarding its interests.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
Monitor and ensure compliance with UAE transportation laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Advise on updates to local, national, and international regulatory requirements impacting the business.
Contract Management:
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to transportation services, supplier agreements, and partnerships.
Ensure contracts align with legal and regulatory standards, safeguarding the company's interests.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess legal risks within the transportation operations and propose mitigation strategies.
Provide sound legal advice to senior management on risk-related matters.
Dispute Resolution:
Handle transportation-related disputes, including claims, litigation, or arbitration, effectively managing external counsel when necessary.
Resolve contractual disagreements with vendors, clients, or partners to minimise disruption to operations.
Policy Development:
Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and company goals.
Conduct legal training sessions to enhance compliance awareness among staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) is required; a Master's degree or equivalent legal certification is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal advisor, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry.
In-depth knowledge of UAE transportation laws, regulatory frameworks, and industry practices.
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with a strong command of legal terminology.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is highly advantageous.
