Our client is current sourcing a Civils Materials & Logistics Manager on a contract basis (outside IR35) for their project in Leeds.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure safe delivery and management of all Ancillary civils materials processes for effective delivery to, and support of, the project demands including the logistical support to facilitate delivery on site in line with the approved construction programmes.
Responsibilities
- To promote safe working practices, ensure full implementation and compliance with safety responsibility statement below.
- Manage Health and safety within the workplace
- Manage Welfare within the works place
- Manage material availability within project timeframes and budgets.
- Manage material availability within construction programming
- Manage material delivery within project parameter in line with construction programming
- Responsible for materials management and suitability in line with Ancillary Civils design
- Management of stores, compound areas and logistics staff relating to ancillary civils works
- Management of large Plant
- Management of small tooling
- Supplier Adjudication
- Material Ordering
- Management of change control re- Allocation
- Procurement Interface
- Management of transportation of goods
- Management lifting appliances (Cranes, Telehandler)
- Supplier & Material Quality Audits
- Construction Interface Management
- Interface and review of allocation design with construction management team
- GRN (Goods Received Note)
Skills/Experience required
- Extensive knowledge of ancillary civils equipment
- Waste Management Awareness
- Environmental Awareness, including sustainability
- Nation or International Certificate of professional competence (CPC) in transport management
- Experience in UK/European drivers hours regulation, (Able to read tachograph / Digi cards to ensure legal and safe operation.
- CPCS SMSTS site managers safety training
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence and communicate effectively with site staff and project team
- Extensive experience of materials management on large multi discipline projects
- Understanding of the Railway operating environment
- Experience of Ancillary Civils Construction & Engineering Design Allocation procedures and methodologies/Techniques.
- Quality Standards Awareness
- Risk Management Awareness/Knowledge of Risk Assessment techniques
- Supervisory Management training / qualification with significant practical experience
- Procurement and supply chain management experience
- Extensive experience of lifting appliance, Crane, Telehandler, lorry mounted crane
- Experience with lift plans / duty charts of lifting appliance,
- Experience with safety check procedure of plant, Road transport and lifting appliance
- Experience slinger / banksman
