TXM Recruit are currently seeking Materials & Logistics Manager to join a leading Rolling Stock Manufacturer, based out of the South Yorkshire location.

The Materials & Logistics Manager will be responsible for ensuring that materials and parts are issued, managed & used effectively across multiple depot locations, whilst ensuring any issues are addressed with minimal impact on the availability of the trains

Duties will include:

• Operational Materials Management including allocating & distributing spares within the system in order to effectively meet our contractual requirements and maintain train availability
• Use available data and analysis to identify continuous improvement activities across all areas of operations supply chain
• Work with depot staff to oversee the mobilisation of all new contracts, including identification of staffing, process, and system issues
• To ensure that materials are managed effectively in an operational space to allow train availability in line with our contractual requirements.
• To ensure new projects integrate with existing infrastructure & all requirements are met such that they are able to begin operation with no risk of penalty or non-compliance.
• To drive cost reduction within the supply chain through implementation of continuous improvement practices.

Suitable candidates will possess the following:

• Experience in supply chain, preferably within rail, rolling stock and manufacturing
• Proven experience of managing greenfield projects in a rail or similar manufacturing or service environment
• Strong experience in a materials management or logistics role
• Experience of working with SAP systems
• An accredited qualification in Continuous Improvement (lean, 6 sigma or similar)
• An accredited qualification in Project Management (Prince2, APMP etc)
• Understanding of COSHH
