JOB DESCRIPTION
CAF is one of the international market leaders in the design, manufacture, maintenance and supply of equipment and components for rail systems with presence across the globe in all continents. In the UK market we are present for more than a decade and now we are expanding exponentially through a corporate holding and two differentiated business units: rolling stock and rail services. CAF Rolling Stock UK, Ltd has an assembly facility in Newport (Wales) with a workforce of around 200 staff.
The Facilities Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day facilities management of site and ensures the timely delivery of planned and reactive maintenance ensuring machine downtime is kept to a minimum.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
• Act as the CAF representative at handover from Contractor.
• Project Manager for the CAF scope of installation.
• Develop operational procedures for the facility.
• Develop a full PPM regime for the factory.
• Develop a maintenance contracting strategy.
• Monitor indicators, documents non-conformance and its causes, and initiates any required action
• Plan, communicate and execute technical improvement measures.
• Preparation of cost budgets for repairs, replacements, contract maintenance and utilities, ensuring that such budgets are adhered to.
General
Participate as and when required in team and one-to-one meetings, and undertake training relevant to the role.
Keep up to date with developments within the Company and other sector wide practices that influence the day-to-day activities within the role, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and any other relevant external/internal factors eg. Company policies and procedures, quality management standards, health and safety.
Ensure, in the course of employment, complete confidentiality is maintained in respect of the company, its dealings, transactions, and all other information relating to clients/ customers and staff.
Promote the organisation by whatever means are appropriate and available so as to ensure a positive image to customers/clients.

REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED ACADEMIC SKILLS: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree Qualified or equivalent work experience in a similar role
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: At least 8 years of significant proven experience in a maintenance role. Demonstrate experience of managing and leading a team, ideally within a large scale manufacturing/engineering environment.
• REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: UK Health and Safety regulations
• LANGUAGES: English, Spanish would be a plus
OTHERS:
Previous experience of carrying out a similar role in an assembly factory set-up
Team Player but capable of working independently
Culturally sensitive in dealing with Spanish colleagues.
