Purpose of the Job
Support activities leading to maintenance readiness for handover of the Central Operating Section of by July 2018. Assist Maintenance Engineers in reviewing O&M documentation and ensuring as-built information, asset data and spares is to the required quality and format at acceptance.
Principal Accountabilities
- Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Information review and comments
- Operation and Maintenance Information review and comments
- Spares review / analysis and procurement decisions
- Assisting delivery in developing a spares management process
- Spares logistics management
- Arrange multi department meetings, record actions and ensure deliverables are implemented in the ‘plan’.
- Interface with LO, LU, MTR, Network Rail, Asset Engineering and Operations to ensure appropriate information is received and communicated as appropriate.
- Manage deliverables detailed in the maintenance readiness delivery plan
- Activities as decided by the line manager to achieve the departmental goals

Dimensions & Interfaces (both internal and external)
- Reporting to the Infrastructure Maintenance Engineering
- Interfacing with various Maintenance & Engineering disciplines.
- Liaising with Project Managers including RfL and the Project Delivery team.
- Liaising with Operation Business team and wider Operations directorate for governance and performance progress reporting.
Person Specification
- Must have significant knowledge and experience in MEP systems and spares management.
- Previously worked on Delivery Projects would be desirable
- Good understanding of Handover Process, Asset Information (O&Ms, Asset Data) would be desirable
- Experience in Project Engineering
- Able to understand complex, technical concepts and translate them into clear, accessible content with accuracy and attention to detail.
- An awareness of Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality practices as applicable to a rail environment.
- Good organisational and interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Able to work using own initiative and manage own workload.
- Confident and professional in face-to-face, phone, email and web communications.
- High level of computer literacy, good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of documentation management systems.
- Experience of working in a railway maintenance environment would be advantageous.
