The Role
You will be tasked with fault-finding, repairs and maintenance of electrical systems on modern passenger rolling stock fleets; working as part of a dedicated team to meet advanced safety standards and quality targets.
This critical role will involve;

Completing planned maintenance on passenger train electrical systems within a well-equipped rolling stock depot

Testing electrical systems to ensure they meet the required safety and performance standards

Conducting fault-finding on electrical systems to identify and report any issues

Working with your team to problem-solve; discussing and agreeing your solutions with the senior engineering teams

Ensuring documents are updated to retain the safe maintenance and operation of trains

Working mixed shifts to meet targets and ensure the fleets are available for service as scheduled

About You
You will already have experience of fault-finding and maintenance of electrical systems on heavy plant or vehicles and be keen to continue your development through classroom training, on-the-job assessments and self-learning.
With a full apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline, you will bring your electrical engineering skills to a busy team where you will be a positive influence in focusing the unit to meet targets and complete duties.
You can expect your team members to come from a range of electrical engineering backgrounds including the Royal Navy, RAF and British Army, Vehicle Technicians and Production Plant Maintenance. They are motivated, ambitious and dedicated to achieving results, like you!
