Configuration and Change Management Engineer in York, North Yorkshire, United Kingdom
My client a tier 1 global contractor in the rail industry is currently looking for a Configuration and Change Management Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company who has high volumes of work coming through. We are looking for an individual who has had experience in a Configuration and Change Management Engineer capacity however this individual does not need to have first hand rail experience.
As a Configuration and Change Management Engineer you will be performing the configuration and change management activities across the signalling project portfolio. The role has a multifunctional dimension implementing and supporting the project and design engineer teams with the capture and management of contract and system configurations throughout the project life cycle.
To meet the key deliverables of the role the Configuration and Change Management Engineer shall be responsible for the following tasks:
- Analyse the stakeholder needs and expectations to establish and manage the configuration for a project or system.
- Ensure application of configuration and change general procedures and instructions
- Ensure the configuration items are correctly populated and defined.
- Set up, plan and organize the CCB meetings:
- Collect the Change Requests (CR)
- Verify that the changes are well documented
- Send the CR to the PrEM for analysis and CP (change proposal) preparation
- Collect the Change Proposals and send it in advance to the participants of the CCB to check the impacts
- Collect (if needed) QCD impacts
- Establish the CCB reports
- Coordinate and federate all the project actors regarding configuration and changes
- Organize and manage the project evolutions through changes activities
- Control configuration (compare realised/applicable)
- Perform Configuration verifications
- Report the change status to relevant stakeholders (closed, modified or new system configuration).
- Escalate safety issues to the Project Engineering Manager
Essential:
Excellent communications and IT skills are required. Previous experience of working within a systems engineering process environment is essential.
