The role
The difference our new Contractors Engineering Manager (P-Way) will make:
As the CEM (P-Way), you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Your role will be to provide independent Technical and Professional expertise to the Programme Engineering Manager to ensure compliance with industry and company standards.
Day to day, you’ll support the pursuit of Engineering Excellence, while leading and supporting the initiatives to manage compliance to Translink Standards. You will be responsible for providing a formal link to Translink to allow Technical and Engineering issues to be discussed and disseminated.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
• Providing support to the Programme Engineering Manager and providing professional guidance on all technical issues related to your Projects.
• Liaising with the client’s representatives, Translink Project Team, Programme Engineering Manager, other CEMs and the company's Professional Heads as required regarding technical issues.
• Providing direction and assistance in the mentoring and instruction of all technical staff in the correct methods of carrying out their duties.
• Independently monitoring technical compliance on contracted works to ensure that the documentation as required by the Client e.g., the Asset Management Plan (AMP) is correctly completed, accurate and delivered to the client within the required timescales.

Essential experience
• Experience in a CEM role in a multi-disciplinary Rail environment.
• Ability to lead, build and motivate a team of Engineers.
• Professionally qualified in an appropriate engineering discipline.
• Successful record in the project and engineering management of good-sized schemes.
• Chartered Engineer.
• Educated to Degree Level.
• Fully conversant with railway structure and associated safety matters.
• In depth knowledge of utilities, construction and contracting.
