The Company

You will be joining a reputable and firmly established, national rail and civil engineering contractor with a company turnover approaching £300m (Group TO £500m+). As Site Agent working for a specialist civil, building, mechanical and electrical renewals and maintenance business recognised on contracts and frameworks across the country, you will become part of a renowned brand name and team giving you the opportunity to grow in conjunction with this ambitious and forward-thinking business. In recent times, the company has used its repute and solid track record in the rail industry to venture into pastures new and break into working with new clients and industries such as the Environment Agency, Highways England and London Underground to name just a few.

About the Job

This is an outstanding opportunity to join the existing team who specialise in small/minor works-typically completing projects under £1million more often than not valued at circa £100k-250k. This role is working within the Rail division who perform minor works across Wales/Western. You will be responsible and include the financial monitoring and control of all contracts in your portfolio, ensuring Health & Safety, environmental and quality compliance is maintained, and the company procedures and objectives are achieved. You will also be responsible for the management of a team of project managers overseeing individual contracts in the region ensuring profitable, timely and quality delivery of works to customers specification

Projects typically include de-vegetation, embankment repairs, bridge/structure repairs, brick work/repairs, hand rails, general civils, walls, drainage, landslides etc

The Ideal candidate

You should have a minimum of 4-5 years’ experience as a Framework/Contracts management position under your belt. You will need to understand all aspects of the contracting process, and technical building requirements- plus good commercial acumen is a must. Successful candidates need to be able to establish strong working relationships with a wide range of people, must be a team player- but also need to be able to use own initiative and make own decisions as well.

The Requirements

You should be educated to Degree/HNC/HND level in a relevant discipline (i.e. Civil Engineering) and you must come from a technical engineering background with experience in change management, Ability to lead by example and build collaborative relationships with existing and new clients and suppliers. Must have excellent communication skills and ability to communicate both up and down within the client organisation.

Salary

£65,000 - £75,000 per annum + extensive benefits package including car/car allowance.
