Contracts Manager (Highways)

We are currently dealing with a major Engineering Consultancy who are looking to expand their team in North Tyneside by recruiting a Highways Contracts Manager (design side). Within this role as Highways Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of transportation projects across a variety of disciplines and a range of both public and private sector clients. As Contracts Manager for NE portfolio, you will have the ability to develop contract documentation for tenders and project manager (in line with Prince2 principles) under NEC3 and NEC4 contracts during the construction phase of projects.

 

As Highways Contract Manager your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • In capacity as Project Manager uphold financial monitoring and control of the contracts, ensuring Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance is maintained, and the Companys procedures and objectives are achieved
  • Preparing tenders for clients and commercial bids to help bring in new business
  • Managing construction schedules and budgets ensuring the day-to-day operation for NEC3 and NEC4 Term Service Contracts, encompassing all aspects
  • Attending site meetings to monitor progress
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients, site, and project managers
  • Making sure construction projects meet agreed technical standards
  • Liaising with technical and financial staff, and ensuring co-ordination between Clients, Principal Designers, Designers, Principal Contractors, Contractors, and other Stakeholders
  • Working on-site and in an office
  • Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion
  • Will mentor, coach, and develop individuals within the Section
  • Will implement the company's BMS requirements throughout all projects
  • Engaging with and developing good working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders including Network Rail/ local authorities/ clients, and other disciplines
  • Input to and preparation of bids and proposals as and when required
  • Becoming familiar and compliant with relevant Health, Safety and Welfare regulations and to promote the company's SHEW culture.
