Ecologist Consultant
We are working with one of the largest and diverse employers in the UK who are searching for an Ecologist to join their team in Cambridge or Newcastle on a full-time, permanent basis. In the position, you will be working within a large team of other Ecology and Environmental Consulting professionals, and collaborating with engineering disciplines, such as Geotechnical, Landscape and others.
With a very strong pipeline of work, and a range of sectors (including Flood Protection, Rail, Energy, Highways and Structures), this would be a perfect opportunity for someone to experience working across and within a range of disciplines and projects, to enhance and develop your professional experience and portfolio.
In the position, you will be:
- Assisting in the proposal, development, and completion of projects through desk-based studies, and field-based surveying and reporting.
- Carry out ecological surveys and lead your own personal surveys
- Surveys could include Phase 1 Habitat Surveys, Site Assessments for protected species, initial inspections for bats, follow-up surveys, surveying great crested newts with standard techniques
- Interpret, analyse, and implement data to summarise ecological advice to colleagues and clients
- Personally deliver reports on ecological surveys and data
- Respond to environmental and ecological queries, and troubleshoot any difficulties that colleagues or clients may foresee
- Drive to, and undertake work across a range of project disciplines and range of locations (travel expenses will be paid)
The employer is one of the largest clients that we are working with in the UK, and provide infrastructure design and consultation services to both the private and public sectors, across the UK. They are growing their Ecology and Environment team, with the hopes of reducing their Environmental footprint.
This is a key position for the client, as you will help provide key ecology consultation services, and almost act as an internal and external consultant to their current, and future projects.
With an option of some hybrid working available, and with site-visits being mandatory as part of the nature of the position, candidates could be based in Huntingdon, Peterborough, Chelmsford or Stevenage regions for the Cambridge office, or alternatively in Middlesbrough, Brampton, or Rothbury regions for Newcastle.
If this position is of interest to you, or you would like to see if this position is available in other locations that are not specified above, please contact Andrey at Critical Project Resourcing.
