The Company

You will be joining a reputable and firmly established, national rail and civil engineering contractor, which specialise in civil, building, mechanical and electrical renewals and maintenance business recognised on contracts and frameworks across the country, you will become part of a renowned brand name and team giving you the opportunity to grow in conjunction with this ambitious and forward-thinking business.

The role

This is an outstanding opportunity to join an experienced team of SHEQ professionals as part of the specialist Environment & Sustainability team, supporting business units, projects and contracts across the UK in all matters relating to environmental and social Sustainability. The Sustainability team consists of specialist advisors who are regionally based, providing local support to the regional businesses. The role shall involve undertaking and reporting preliminary ecology surveys; technical sustainability and assurance support to operational and support staff; preparation and submission of environmental permits; assisting the Department in developing and delivering its corporate and client driven sustainability strategies; and, bid support.

Ideal Candidate

You’ll have a background in Ecology & Sustainability, where you’ll have provided advice on various conservational impacts such as Badgers, Newts, Foxes, Bats etc, to a Tier One or Two Contractors working on infrastructure projects. You’ll also have working knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001 and Ideally hold an IEMA (institute of Environmental management)

Remuneration

Offering a salary of up to £45,000 which will be dependent on experience. The full package will include a car or car allowance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, contributory pension scheme, health care and life insurance.
