Summary
A reputable and firmly established, engineering contractor operating nationally in rail, civils and engineering markets have a fantastic opportunity to join an established, national engineering contractor as an Environmental Consents Advisor to support the wider SHEQ team including senior management on business projects across our UK operations to investigate the need for, scope, apply for, track, obtain and ensure ongoing compliance with a variety of environmental consents.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in a projects or operationally based environmental role
- Previous experience in a compliance based environmental role
- Environmental qualification e.g. HNC, HND, Post Grad Diploma
- Strong organisational skills
- Good Attention to Detail
- Excellent Communicator
- Clean Driving License
Desirable Requirements:
- Previous experience working with environmental consents in the UK
- Previous experience of working with and liaising with UK environmental regulators
- Environmental qualification e.g. Degree
- Experience working in civil engineering project environments
- Prior experience of working on major construction projects e.g. HS2
Duties and responsibilities will be varied on a day to day basis and would include but not be limited to tasks including
- Lead on the timely submission of consent applications to ensure work can be undertaken as planned, on time and on budget.
- Develop good relationships with project teams, regulators and the SHEQ team to:
- Obtain and verify project documentation to ensure it is accurate, complete and compliant with consent requirements;
- Keep project teams up to date with the consenting process to ensure project plans, resources and budgets are accurate;
- Implementing, maintaining, monitoring and reporting against a service level agreement for the environmental consenting process.
