We are looking to source a dynamic and visionary leader to lead the Systems Integration and Assurance team across QR’s major project portfolio which has a current pipeline of $9 billion of committed projects.

The Role

The successful candidate will lead the Systems Integration and Assurance team within the Major Projects and Integration division. This team of up to 40 specialists oversees the systems engineering, integration, and assurance requirements across multiple major rail projects which includes Cross River Rail.

Responsibilities

Leadership Excellence: Inspire and lead a team of talented technical engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Project Oversight: Manage the end-to-end integration and assurance of major rail projects, ensuring seamless coordination of various technical components.

Execution: With systems architecture/soft infrastructure already in place, Queensland Rail are looking for someone who can execute against that plan.

Strategic Vision: Contribute to the development and execution of a forward-thinking strategy that aligns with Queensland Rail's mission and objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success and alignment with industry standards.

Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.

Experience Required

Leadership experience within a major rail project environment: Proven experience in leading large teams (both internal and external) of subject matter experts on complex rail systems projects.

Major project delivery experience: A proven track record in delivering major digital rail projects of more than $500million with experience in both greenfield and brownfield rail projects.

Technical Rail Systems and Standards Expertise: Strong understanding of rail systems in particular train control systems (CBTC & ETCS), integration and assurance processes, with expertise in CENELEC EN-50126, EN-50129 and EN50128 standards.

Innovative Thinking: Ability to think outside the box, challenge the status quo, and drive continuous improvement.

Excellent Interpersonal Skills: A blended approach and someone that is adept at working across cross-functional teams and building strong relationships with diverse stakeholders to drive excellent outcomes in a complex rail infrastructure environment.
