Coleman James are pleased to be working with a Tier 1 contractor and recruiting for a Health and Safety advisor with the following responsibilities and experience;
HSQE Advisor
This job description reflects the major tasks to be carried out within the role and identifies the level of responsibility but not limited to, the position may also require other duties which are to be carried out from time to time as deemed appropriate by your line manager.
Responsible to the HSQE Manager for:
- The provision of Health and Safety advice to meet Statutory, Regulatory and client, requirements for utilities works.
- Communication, co-operation and co-ordination practices are applied in line with principal contractors and client requirements.
- The provision of Environmental advice applicable to the company’s activities
- The provision of Quality system advice applicable to the company’s activities
- Carrying out Health and Safety risk assessments for the activities of the Company
- Carrying out management system support activities
- Carrying out site inspections
- Advising on changes to legislation and client standards which may impinge on the Company
- Advising on, and delivering where appropriate, health and safety communications within the company.
- Auditing the management system to schedule and ensuring meeting legal and other including safety, quality and environmental requirements are met
- Carrying out Accident and Incident Investigations
- Ensure noise and manual handling assessments are undertaken where necessary
- Document administrator for all HSQE system documentation – Ensuring all changes are logged and files updated in both system and hard copy.
- Promote the clients Values, and PALs Behavioural Based Safety programme in all aspects of your role with the client.
- Managing the HSQE Coordinator and the HSQE systems administrator.
Experience required
We are looking for candidates with background within utilities, Civils, Construction, Fibre, Excavations projects.
Authority As per above.
Competence requirements – NEBOSH Construction Certificate or similar and equivalent. Technician of IOSH or a similar and equivalent association. Membership of IEMA or a similar and equivalent assertion Good knowledge and experience of health safety and environmental system requirements and management supported by at least 3 years’ experience of health and safety management.
