TES 2000 are a highly regarded contractor to the rail industry and undertake a range of services on Network Rail's infrastructure, including the delivery of track renewal projects.
We are looking for a Head of SHEQ on a full-time basis. The key focus of this role is to provide SHEQ support to the business, ensuring that the organisation’s systems are implemented, monitored and audited to comply with all Network Rail Standards, TES company requirements and all applicable legislation. To act as the TES CDM Co-ordinator.
Key duties include:
• Accountable for the implementation and monitoring of all Safety, Health, Environment and Quality systems across the project, ensuring compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, RISQS, Link-Up and Principal Contractor Licence requirements.
• Ensuring TES is compliant with the Health and Safety Act 1974 and all associated legislation.
• Set policy, procedure and guidance for RIPS activities.
• Be responsible for assigning competent RIPS personnel ensuring their continued competence to fulfil the role.
• Accountable for the Full project compliance with relevant H&S and Environmental legislation, including CDM, as well as Network Rail Standards and other contract requirements
• Support business departments with compilation of Construction and Projected related Safety documentation, Construction Phase plans (CPP), Work Package Plans (WPP), Task Briefing Sheets (TBS), various Risk assessments.
• Provision of the TES CDM Co-ordinator role, and liaison with the Client’s CDM Representative
• Liaison with the Clients Safety Representatives, and other external bodies (including statutory bodies)
• Ensure the of a programme of site safety inspections and safety tours
• To lead accident and incident investigations
• Promotion of the company behavioural safety improvement programme
• Maintenance of supplier approval processes
• Provision of management information to the TES Board as required
• Accountable for Maintaining risk register, reporting issues back to be incorporated in the Company wide risk register
• Carry out additional duties deemed to be within your capability as directed by management
• Own, lead and manage the Department budget to include forecasting and business planning to ensure this is aligned with the business strategy and objectives
• Actively participate and take ownership of the development and delivery of the strategy for the Business Unit.
• Timely weekly reporting on key performance indicators as agreed with the business.
Skills and attributes required:
You must have a full driving licence and the ability to travel when required. Rail industry experience is essential.

o Constructionline
o Builders Profile
• You will need to be IT literate across all Microsoft applications including Sharepoint.
• You will need to have a detailed understanding and experience of working in an environment where quality and consistency of documentation has been a business priority
• You should show appreciation of the necessary balance between practicality and risk that needs to be applied according to the range of situations encountered
• Able to communicate effectively at senior leadership level and influence others
• Effective in written communication where this is the required communication form
• Highly organised in record keeping, meetings, tracking actions
