Principal & Senior Bridge Engineers - UK wide - Flexible working - £35-55k + benefits.

Our client, are recruiting for Principal & Senior Bridge Engineers to join their expanding Bridges team. We have roles based in Bristol, Newcastle, Manchester, Chesterfield and Cardiff. The salary level is £35-55k + excellent benefits packages and flexible approaches to working. Their portfolio of works comprises a diverse mix of local, national and international bridges and structures projects in both rail and road including numerous long-term frameworks.

Responsibilities include:

Take a leading role in the design of major civil engineering structures.
Prepare designs under minimal supervision.
Assist with the commercial and financial control of your project.
Analysis and detailed design of road/rail bridges and other structures.
Inspection, assessment and strengthening of road/rail bridges and other structures.
Report checking and production of technical reports and documents.
Project management of schemes including: client reporting, programming, resource planning and commercial management.

Essential experience:

Experience with bridge and related structural inspection assessment and design schemes.
Proven design and project management experience delivering to quality, time and budget.
Experience in road and/or rail projects in the U.K.
High level technical skills in current inspection, assessment and design.
Previous exposure with clients of both national and local authorities, together with major contractors.
You will have a current clean driving license and be willing to travel throughout the UK to visit sites.
Strong ability in various software packages ideally including LUSAS and MIDAS with strong experience in Finite Element Analysis preferred.
Good knowledge and experience of the following: Eurocode, British, Highways England and Network Rail Standards.

Education

Educated to degree standard in a relevant subject such as Bridge, Civil or Structural Engineering.
Ideally educated to MSc level or equivalent.
Either a Chartered Engineer with ICE or IStructE, or close to completion
