A leading Engineering consultancy are looking to add a Senior or principal Highways Engineer within their offices based in York to work on major Projects.

As a Principal Highways Engineer it will be your job to take responsibility to ensure all projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective way whilst reporting progress on ongoing projects. You will be acting as a mentor to younger Engineers and ensuring that all your work is being approved in accordance with DMRB. You will be efficient in using appropriate software such as MX, Open roads, Inroads and Civils3d and work with complete understanding of all relevant standards. You will also have other duties including financial management, stakeholder engagement, contractor and consultancy liaison and budget holder responsibilities. Such schemes include, but are not limited to; Highway Design, Highway Drainage, Foul Water and Sustainable foul and surface water drainage design

As either a Principal or Senior Highways Engineer this would be an excellent opportunity to join a leading Engineering consultancy. This role is based in York, however there are also positions in Manchester, Birmingham and Reading. This role will consider both permanent and contracted roles.

 

Job Requirements

• Lead a team of Highway and Drainage professionals
• Overseeing design sub contracts and programmes of work
• Have a sound understanding of such as MX or Civils3d
• Demonstrable experience of working towards DMRB standards
• Experience of leading a team
• Chartered Membership (CEng with MICE/MIHT) or equivalent experience
